Director of Rehab and Orthopedics

Position Summary: To maintain a bold presence in the market place the SLD needs to ensure a significant market share and he/she must promote the growth of the market share for each aspect of these Service Lines. Growth of the orthopedic market share along with the rehab services is also the responsibility of this SLD. This will be accomplished by performing business development using new product identification and service line-specific strategic planning. Knowledge of budgets and productivity that will be consistent with or better than HSHS benchmarks. Volume growth will need to be continually monitored and improved in the following areas; Orthopedic office visits and surgery, Occupational Health visits and ancillary volumes and rehab services treatment loads and all downstream revenue related to Occupational Health. Dynamic and engaged physicians are very important to the success of this program. Their participation and involvement will enable success. The SLD will make it a priority that the Medical Director and other involved physicians participate in the ongoing planning and success of the program. The best marketing tool is high quality outcomes for the employers and employees. Results of annual quality scorecards will be developed each year and monitored monthly.

Education: Previous Service Line Director with experience in growing medical services market share, working with physicians and leading healthcare operations. Complete understanding of the budgeting process and an ability to maintain compliance with flex budgeting. Solid grounding in strategic planning, proven success in working within a matrix organizational structure without extensive operational authority, and the ability to establish credibility with the medical staff. MBA or MHA preferred. Sales and marketing experience preferably in Occupational Health is preferred. Excellent client and customer service skills, including physician relationship skills and the ability to work collegially with medical professionals and institutions in partnership toward common objectives. Facilitation and marketing skills are highly desirable.

Position Summary:
Assists in development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures and standards of work, assists department director with department’s annual budget, changes in supplies, equipment or procedures. Performs cardiac monitoring by observing monitor screen for proper wave form on each telemetry patient and performs EKG interpretation by analyzing and recording EKG waveforms using accepted standards and guidelines.
