MISSION STATEMENT

The primary mission of St. Mary's Hospital is to continue Christ's healing ministry through service to the sick, the aged, the poor and the terminally ill --regardless of race, creed, sex, handicaps, religion, age, sexual orientation, marital, military-discharge or financial status. The values of compassion, justice, reverence for life and individual dignity are fostered. Health services that improve or maintain the quality of life are supported. The Sisters, administration, medical staff and employees practice this mission by identifying with the core values of the Hospital Sisters Health System--Respect, Care, Competence and Joy.

CORE VALUES

The primary motive of the Hospital Sisters' ministry to believers and non-believers alike is to reveal and embody Christ's healing love for all people.

Respect | This includes respect for life and for the dignity of each individual person. It is a commitment to freeing and empowering each person to grow and develop to his or her full potential.

Care | This embodies the concern, compassion and sensitivity with which we care for patients as individuals on a one-to-one basis. This concern for human welfare underlies our preferential option for the poor and the helpless.
