Financial support is another way to support and help continue the mission of St. Mary's Hospital. By making a contribution to Friends, you will be supporting state-of-the-art purchases, facility improvements and other needed programs. Donors may stipulate if they wish for a specific program to benefit from their financial support.

The Friends were organized in 1987. However, the concept of giving to St. Mary's began 100 years earlier when Col. Ralph Plumb pledged $1000 toward the construction of the first St. Mary's Hospital.

Philanthropy continues to play an important role today. Every dollar donated assists with projects, capital equipment and hospital improvements. Over the years, donations have made possible many improvements to our healthcare services. During the recent fiscal year, an additional $60,000 in unrestricted gifts was donated to the Foundation. Also, more than $70,000 was granted back to hospital departments for purchases in the Nursery, Cardiac Rehab, Extended Care Unit, ICU, Medical Records and Chapel.

Transesophageal Echocardiogram
Cardiac Rehab equipment
CT scanner
Laptop computers

Building projects made possible through the Friends donations include: the Cancer Treatment Center, renovations to the chapel, renovations to the Cardiac Rehab department, and the "When Every Minute Counts" Capital Campaign that collected more than $800,000 from the community in gifts and pledges for a new Emergency Services addition

Distinguished Patron $25,000 - $49,999
Distinguished Benefactor $50,000 - $149,999
Distinguished Humanitarian $150,000 - $249,999
Distinguished Founder $250,000 and above

The community's support of Friends fund-raising events including the $100,000 Hole in One Shootout, community concerts and the annual appeal, as well as memorial and honor gifts throughout the year, are essential in helping St. Mary's continue our healing mission. This generosity by the individuals and organizations we serve demonstrates the community's on-going commitment to St. Mary's Hospital.
