Outpatient Treatment and Infusion Management Under Medical Care
OPTIMUM Care is an abulatory outpatient service located at St. Mary’s Hospital. It provides outpatient treatment options and schedules appointment hours with the patient’s convenience in mind.
OPTIMUM CARE OFFERINGS
Our skilled nursing staff is dedicated to treating patients of all ages during non-urgent, prescheduled visits for:
- Catheter changes and removal
- Wound certified nurses
- Wound care/dressing changes
- Vacuum Assisted Wound Closure (VAC)
- Blood transfusion without hospital admission
- Colostomy changes and irrigation
- Tracheostomy changes
- Central line care
- Long-term antibiotic therapy without hospital admission
- Allergy shots
- Medical injections
- IV therapy
- Staple and suture removal
- PICC line insertion
- Minor procedures
THE OPTIMUM CARE ADVANTAGE
By using OPTIMUM Care services, patients can reduce the length of inpatient hospital stays or avoid hospitalization for services that can be provided on an outpatient basis. Following treatment, patients can resume their regular activities for the day. OPTIMUM Care gives non-homebound patients a cost-effective alternative for care.

OPTIMUM Care services can reduce or eliminate days of hospitalization, thereby allowing patients the opportunity to recover in the comfort of their homes. Patients that require recurrent treatment will get to know and become comfortable with the skilled nursing staff dedicated to treating OPTIMUM Care patients.
CONVENIENT HOURS
Although regular OPTIMUM care hours are 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, the staff can vary hours to meet patients’ needs. Our program gives patients the flexibility to schedule appointments before work or during lunch breaks.
