About
St. Mary's Health Care - Ottawa
Whether
you have a sick child on the weekend or you cannot get away
from work before your physician’s office closes, chances
are you have experienced a problem getting health care when
you need it. St. Mary's Hospital understood how this could
become a problem. So St. Mary’s Health Care –
Ottawa was created. This new state-of-the-art facility, which
now is open for business, offers immediate care for those
who do not have a regular physician or those who cannot get
in to see their physician.
What
is Immediate Care?
Many parents
struggle with the issue of what to do with a sick child on
a weekend, wondering if the child is sick enough to warrant
a trip to the emergency room before the doctor’s office
opens for business on Monday. Now, parents and children do
not need to suffer through illnesses like ear infections or
strep throat until Monday morning.
St. Mary’s
Health Care – Ottawa is open from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. seven
days a week and can handle these situations. The extended
hours are also great for working adults who cannot easily
get away from work in time to see their physician for illnesses
and pains. Although appointments are available, walk-in patients
are welcome also.
Those hours
also mean added convenience to everyday health care needs.
For working parents who do not want to use precious vacation
days sitting in a doctor’s office, or for parents who
do not want their child to miss school unnecessarily, you
can stop by after school or on the weekend.
Lab
and x-rays available
To add
to the convenience, lab services and x-rays are available
on site. Lab tests ordered by any physician can be performed
at this facility; the doctor does not need to be on staff
at St. Mary's Hospital. Someone who needs lab work can drop
by the facility whenever convenient and not deal with driving
to a hospital, finding parking and locating the laboratory.
For anyone
who is not sure if they have a broken bone, the x-ray services
can answer that question without the expense of an emergency
room visit. Ordinary sprains and bumps can be examined and
handled anytime without an appointment.
