St. Mary’s Respiratory Care Services
St. Mary’s respiratory care is a 24-hour/7 day a week inpatient service. Services are provided to areas such as intensive care unit, emergency department, and general nursing units.
Patients with chronic lung conditions such as asthma, emphysema and cystic fibrosis, as well as those with other restrictive/obstructive pulmonary diseases/conditions are referred to respiratory care.
Diagnostic treatments include:
- Oxygen therapy
- Arterial Blood Sampling
- Bedside Lung Function Testing
- Pulse Oximetry
- Asthma Therapy / Teaching
- Mechanical Ventilation
- Non-invasive Mechanical Ventilation (CPAP/BIPAP)
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (including intubation and automatic external defibrillation)
St. Mary's Hospital respiratory care has been the recipient of the Quality Respiratory Care Recognition Award from the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC) for three consecutive years (2008, 2009, 2010).
